The standard junior annual membership fee is £40
As some juniors have other commitments on Tuesdays and can only attend a limited number of training sessions, a reduced membership fee of £20 is available. This rate is also the standard rate for school year 1.
Members renewing get a discount on these rates depending on what races they ran in the previous year.
Social membership (no training) is £5. This rate is also the standard rate for reception year and younger.

Please note that the membership fee does NOT include England Athletics affiliation fees, which are needed when taking part in any competition at county level and above. We will ask for these fees at the time of entry to the first race at that level in that year. The England Athletics year runs from 1 April to 31 March and the fee is currently £21 (for their year 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025).
England Athletics Affiliation / Membership
Older juniors who run in England Athletics affiliated races need to be registered with England Athletics which costs an additional £21. Examples of affiliated races that require E A membership are Evensplits Leeds 5k at Bodington, Hyde Park mile, Canal Run 5k, Run for All 10k, Abbey Dash 10k, West Yorks XC league, West Yorks track&field league.
However most junior races are classified as fun runs so do not require E A affiliation (juniors should still sign up for the race as a “Valley Strider” and are encouraged to wear a V S vest). Parkrun does not require affiliation. The Peco XC junior league does not require affiliation (but the Peco senior league does).
