Cross Country

I haven’t had time to create the Autumn/Winter 2026/27 page yet so I’ve added some information of cross-country events at the end of the Spring/Summer 2026 page.

As soon as entry links are available I’ll add them to the page.
England Athletics affiliation
You’ll see that several of these events require England Athletics affiliation.
- I’ll register all year 5 and older in the next few days – this will generate a URN (unique registration number) for each athlete. I’ll register them as “social athletes” – note that this doesn’t entitle them to compete.
- If they want to enter any of these races, please pay £25 to the Valley Striders Membership Account (last two digits are “78”).
- I’ll pay the money on to EA and their status will change to “competitive athlete” .
- The entry system is able to detect this and entry will be allowed.
V S Parkrun Challenges News
The two separate V S Parkrun Challenges are
- Run all the 11 adult parkruns in Leeds once
- Run all the 6 junior parkruns in Leeds twice
Status
- The first edition closed on 31 August 2026
- 3 junior Striders have completed the adult parkrun challenge
- 2 junior Striders have completed the junior parkrun challenge
- we are allowing a grace period till 30 September 2026 for runners to complete a challenge
- The second edition has just opened and will run from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027
