GSAL is ON this evening
I’ve had to make 4 changes to groups, I now have 3 groups of 18 and one of 17 … perfect. New lists see below.
Help needed at 5:15pm to dig and rake the long jump pit and other setup
And timekeepers needed for the sprints please
These sessions will be at GSAL,
except for the “C” group which will be at Bedquilts (not Bodington)
There will be 4 groups (72) at GSAL at 5:30 and 1 group (21) at Bedquilts at 6:00
If we have to cancel or change the venue, there will be a message here by 4pm Tuesday
For the “C” group it will be normal arrangements so just skip to the list of names.

This has all the information about who you can bring, the earliest time you can arrive, where to park, how to get from the car park to the athletics field, what to do (and what not to do) when you get there etc etc.
The “Names For …” page that you are reading deliberately doesn’t repeat information in the “Training at GSAL 2025” page- you do need to read both pages.
Parents
The following parents have been allocated duties (listed below). If your name is in this list and you aren’t coming but your child is and is being brought by someone else, you must post on Facebook to say this.

We have vacancies for assistants on shot put (retrieving), 400metres (back marker) and sprints (keep-in-order-on-finish line). Let me know if you’d like to help with any of these. Note that these are not suitable for parents of the youngest children as they will need to follow their child round the activities

- Shot put (or boules for smaller children) (or tennis balls for even smaller)
Groups this week (most at 5:30pm)
- mainly the children from the 4:40 Leos session – start with activity 3
- mainly the older children from the 5:25 Leos session – start with activity 4
- mainly the younger children from the 5:25 Leos session plus 4 from other groups that were full – start with activity 1
- mainly the children from the 6:10 Leos session – start with activity 2
Children on the waiting list that have already been to at least one V S session are included in the groups above.
The session will run from 5:30 to 6:45. Most of the set up will be done before 5:30 but if you want to come a few minutes early there will still be a few things to do.
Anyone seriously considering competing in track & field events in August and September is welcome to stay after 6:45 when we will be doing some extra long jump, shot, sprint starts. Please mention this when you respond on Facebook. This is limited to 16 places and is for current school year 4 (i.e. as at July 2025) and older.

Please note – all parents except those who are designated to lead groups will be expected to help in some way with the activities. Follow around with your child’s group watch the leaders as well as your child. If there’s any activity (e.g. timekeeping or raking the pit) that you fancy doing next time, let me know!
NB Most of these groups have more than 16 coming so there may be some balancing needed on the day
