Email problems

Iíve been having problems sending emails for the last 3 weeks.  I have 15 distribution lists each with about 25 names on.  After sending 8 or 9 emails, all subsequent emails are rejected.  Even if I then just send one email to one person it gets rejected.  A couple of weeks ago when I waited an hour I was able to continue sending.  On Friday night the problem took 18 hours to clear.

Iím saying all this just in case the emails pack up completely, in which case there will be extra information on the club website.  So if you stop getting emails, please look at the website.  Thanks!

Bradford Millennium Way Relay Ė from John Wallace

Never mind the normal Sunday run Ė what you all want is a proper challenge, for which the BMW on Sunday 16th June is just the thing

Itís a 50 mile 5 leg route, run in pairs, that starts and finishes at Bingley rugby club with change overs near Denholme, Oxenhope, Silsden, Ilkley Gates and on to the finish. It's north and west of Bradford essentially going around the greater Rombalds moor, parts coinciding with Yorkshireman and Rombalds Stride routes.

Harder than the Leeds Country Way, easier than Calderdale, and in my (biased) view better than both. The clubhouse is a good finish as it has beer and sandwiches and the results come out pretty quickly.

Saltaire Striders organise it and there should be more details on their website (if you can get it to work!)  www.saltairestriders.org.uk

Go on - you know you want to

Email me back if interested teams@valleystriders.org.uk

Leeds Half Marathon

Here are the results that Iíve managed to find, but who was who?  And was there anyone running not listed as a Strider?  Please let me know so I can update the Grand Prix table.

NB One Valley Strider fell foul of rule 10 of the ď17 rulesĒ  www.valleystriders.org.uk/17rules.htm and has had to inform the race organisers so he doesnít get the M55 first prize that heís not entitled to.

The number of Striders finishers was up on last year but quite a few short of the 51 in 2008 and 50 in 2009.  Iím sure two of the reasons for the decrease in numbers are (a) the entry price and (b) that running along Kirkstall Road is mind-numbing.  I canít do much about the second, but if you want to get entry for next year at £8 off, there is a special offer at £21.20 (includes £1.20 transaction fee) until 11:59 pm tomorrow (Monday) night see

https://eventdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=main&EventDesqID=2552&OrgID=3918 .  Iím in (I reckon it will be the 45th time Iíve raced down Kirkstall Road including Abbey Dashes, Leeds Halfs, and Leeds Marathons).

Commiserations to Andy May, just 6 seconds off a podium place,  But he did get the satisfaction of 2nd M35, and Steve Webb was also runner-up in his age category.
