Note re new website

The new website will be going live soon. The current website has now been copied to an archive area and its history will remain available. This email refers to a few pages on the current website, note the word "archive" in all of the references.

England Athletics Affiliation (from Bob Jackson)

England Athletics emailed me at 4:05pm on 2nd April to tell me I am now a registered athlete with Valley Striders AC. 210 others should have received a similar email at the same time. If you are expecting to be registered but didn't get this email, then email [email protected] and I will investigate (NB please check your Junk email folder first!).

Lapsed memberships

There are now just 23 people who've neither renewed nor resigned their V S club membership. There is a list at www.valleystriders.org.uk/archive/vsmemreg.htm. These 23 haven't had their E A registrations renewed, have now been removed from VS Facebook Groups and will be removed from the email distribution list after this vsupdate email has been sent. If they renew, they will be reinstated.

Food for Tuesday 16 April after both training sessions

Food will be available around 7:10pm. Choices are
- Beef lasagne
- Pulled pork buns and fries
- Jacket potatoes with cheese and/or baked beans (V)

Cost is £3 per portion. It is not possible to order half portions for juniors, but two small juniors could share a portion (extra plate and cutlery will be provided), or a junior could share a part of their full portion with a hungry adult.

Please order to [email protected] by 9:30a.m. Monday 15 April stating how many portions of each option you require.

Pay on the night, but if you order and then don't turn up, if we're not able to re-sell your portion(s), you will be liable to pay.

Food after the adults training sessions will be available at 8:30pm with the same menu, see Facebook post to order.

Grand Prix 2019 (from Alan Hutchinson)

We are presently a third of the way into the 2019 Grand Prix series and already have 4 runners who have completed 8 races and 133 who have taken part in at least one race. There are plenty more opportunities to participate in forthcoming races and increase your scores and group or age category standings. Keep an eye on the web site for upcoming events.

The leaderboard at the moment is topped by Matt Hallam on 795 points having WON the Baildon Boundary Way Half Marathon on Sunday 7 April, many congratulations Matt. Group B & M45 leader Graham Jones (642), C & F35 leader Sarah Mann (662), D Sam Davison (663), E Chris Sawyer (431), F Pascale Fotherby (383), G Lisa Jones (314). Other category leaders are M35 Gary Mann, M55 Ken Fox, F Senior Rachel Bentley, F45 Amanda Spencer and F55 Ruth Warren.

We will be starting up the first GP Park Run of the year with the Roundhay run on Saturday 18 May, see you there!

Track and Field for Juniors

Note that series entries for York Summer League close midday on 18 April see http://www.cityofyorkathleticclub.net/summer-league/

NB if you're only planning to attend a couple of meetings and/or run one event at each meeting it will be cheaper to enter on the day.

First event is Easter Monday 22 April. Hope to see a lot of you there!
