Hopefully, all of those allocated a leg have had an email introducing you to the other runners on your leg so that you can arrange recces. Please email [email protected] if you haven't.

If you're available and would like to run but haven't told us yet, please email [email protected]. We're looking for reserves for now but based on previous years there's a decent chance you'll be asked to run.

Track & Field at City of York AC - Sunday 12 August and Saturday 1 September

Because of the World Cup Final, the summer league meeting planned for 15 July has been rescheduled to 1 September. More details to follow, but all athletes must be at least 9 years old.

Consequently the Open meeting planned for 1 September (which was due to have an under-9 category) has been cancelled - I think it is unlikely to be rescheduled.

A new meeting for junior athletes (under 15 on 31 August 2018) (including under 9's) has been added on Sunday 12 August. It starts at 11a.m.

Events available (ages on 31 August so for example under 11 is those who've just finished school year 4 or 5)
Under 7 - 60m Lollipop Run (FREE, just turn up at the start)
Under 9 - 75m, 600m, Long Jump.
Under 11 - Hurdles, 75m, 600m, Long Jump, Turbo Javelin
Under 13 - Hurdles, 100m, 200m, 800m, Long Jump, High Jump, Javelin
Under 15 - Hurdles, 100m, 300m, 800m, Long Jump, High Jump, Javelin.
Parents, coaches fun races - 100m, Mile. Free entry to those officiating on the day.

Maximum 3 events per day, Entries in advance at £3 an event or £8 for 3 events. Entries on the day at £4 an event or £10 for 3 events.

Please email [email protected],uk for more information. I will send entry forms off on Tuesday 7 August for anyone wanting to get the discounted rate.

Extra practice for Long Jump will be available from 7pm on the Tuesday evenings when we are at GSAL (including 24 July), and we may be able to arrange javelin training for another Tuesday.

Some Winners

I'll be sending out a special "Results Update" later this week to include Eccup 10 and junior races, Danefield Relay, Methley Canal Run 5k and junior race, Golden Acre Relay and Junior Relay, Washburn Valley Relay and Junior Relay, Leeds 10k

But I will congratulate now the V S junior teams who took 5 of the 6 team prizes at the Golden Acre Junior Relay and John Hobbs who was race winner at Eccup 10 and at the Leeds 10k
