Next week’s race is Sunday 13th at Nostell Priory. Car parking will be £1 and it’s a 50 mile round trip (from Leos), so car sharing is recommended. Full race details will be at www.pecoxc.co.uk .

If you did register for race 1 but didn’t run, your number will be under the VS Flag at the race – you’ll need your number before you register.

If you didn’t register for race 1 and want to run race 2, email [email protected] by this Sunday night.

Race 2 will be the first race in the VS 2015 Grand Prix!

Finally good luck to our men’s and ladies’ teams running at Guiseley this Sunday, they are both placed second in the West Yorkshire XC league and if we get 2 sets of silver medals it will be a great achievement.

Leeds Christmas Challenge 10k – from Howard Jeffrey

Howard emailed : I had a great race at Leeds Christmas challenge 10K with Pete Johnson from Scarborough AC, who's name you probably recognise (yes I do, although he runs for Scarborough, he lives in Roundhay!). He was first o/65 at the Abbey Dash, one and a half minutes faster than me. I was jaded at the Dash but felt good on Sunday so we had a real ding dong all the way round. I came out on top by 4 seconds. 20th overall and 1st o/60 in 43:06

Other Valley Striders were Simon Barker 49:21 and Chris Sawyer 53:45.
