Subject: V S Reminders - pie & peas and Leaders course, also
Orienteering in Roundhay Park on Sunday
There will be a proper V S Update in
the next few days, but in the meantime
Reminder 1 – pie and peas Tuesday 28
February
Select meat pie or vegetarian bake,
select mushy peas or baked beans, and say whether you want apple pie – to [email protected] by Sunday 10pm. Orders
may be accepted up till 12 noon Monday, but please email Saturday or Sunday if
you can.
Reminder 2 – Run Leaders course.
In the last few V S updates, I’ve been
mentioning Run Leaders courses, either to support the existing V S Run Leeds at
Alwoodley Tuesday 6pm group, or a new improvers group starting Tuesday 7pm from
April, or to support the club Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday sessions, or to set up
new sessions on your own as a source of income.
The course is Saturday 17 March at
John Charles Centre for Sport (formerly South Leeds Stadium). Already 28
of the 36 places have been taken
If you are interested, please contact
Holly [email protected] by this Tuesday at the latest.
Orienteering
Lastly, this message was in the Abbey
Runners weekly email – I believe this is an open event
“Airienteers are holding an
orienteering event in Roundhay Park on Sun 26th Feb (starting from
the car park near the lakeside cafe). There will be courses suitable for
all ages (including and especially children) and abilities (most
courses won't require the use of a compass). Plus, it's in Roundhay Park, so
the chances of getting lost are slim! I challenge you all to come down and have
a go at something a bit different - you can run on your own or in a group and
it will certainly sharpen up your navigation skills. If you like, think of it
as just a run with a map in your hand.
Registration is any time between 10.00 and 12.00, and you will be given a
starting time when you register (it'll be between 10.30 and 12.30)

required for orienteering events
