Even when the official results showed club names,
there were a few Striders unlisted. But I think I’ve found them all now
(or they’ve found me), so check the Grand Prix page http://valleystriders.org.uk/vsclubch.htm
for updated results The final count was 58 Striders (a record for
any grand prix race, and only beaten by the 60 for the Leeds Country Way) and 7
friends.
We successfully got George promoted to 1st
M70 (Congratulations), and he emailed “thank you for sorting out my
problem. Great to see so many Striders in the race and the roadside support was
greatly appreciated. Only disappointment was not having Max around at the 9K
mark. Regards George”
Thirsk 10 mile

There was a discussion about whether the pools panel
should sit. Can you imagine it? And now the results from James

Sports Massage – message from Liz Wood
Just a reminder to Striders that I'm qualified in
sports massage therapy. For anyone who's not tried sports massage before,
you might be interested in some of the benefits:
- improvement in tissue condition, reduced stiffness,
pain and fatigue
- increased flexibility and range of movement
- improved balance between muscle groups
- faster recovery from injury - aids soft tissue
repair
- improves circulation & skin elasticity
There are loads of ways this can help your running,
whether it's to help you recover from a hard session or a race, or the perfect
way to make sure you're in peak condition before your next event. Regular
sports massage is a valuable addition to your training routine. It could
give you those extra precious seconds and bag you your next PB! Not all
my clients are athletes; anyone can benefit from it; the intensity of the
massage is adapted to suit each individual and their requirements.
Stuck for a Christmas present for the runner in your life?
Look no further! Or why not add a sports massage to your own Christmas
wish list. Go on, you deserve it!
