This was
David’s first ever cross country race, and although near the back he was in a
group and 4 minutes clear of the last placed runner. Next year he will
still be in the same age group so could well be in the top half.

Pulse Race 2007 and
2008 (from Mick Tinker)
The final
amount raised for The British Heart Foundation (BHF) from the 2007 Pulse Races
is now confirmed as £6,356.
Thanks on
behalf of the Pulse Race Committee and BHF for all those Striders, families and
friends who helped out and/or ran one of the races.
This year's
event is to be held on Sunday June 8th, again in
As last
year the main race will be a 10K but the 3 mile(ish) fun race will be replaced
by a slightly longer 5K race, which should attract some JT 10K runners. (JT 10K
is on June 22nd.)
Please put
the date in your diaries and I'll be touting for helpers nearer the time.
Having a Do? Give Leos a try!
Paul White represents us on the Leo’s Management
Committee. The smoking ban may have been good for runners but not for
turnover at Leo’s. They are looking for ways to boost income. He
sends the following message / advertisement:
If you are having a “do” don’t forget to consider
using the facilities at Leos. The club can be used for almost any type of
function - wedding receptions, birthdays, retirements, anniversaries etc.
Arrangements can be made to suit your needs. Top
quality food can be provided along with music or a disco if required and there
is ample parking.
The premises can also be used for business meetings /
functions, small seminars, courses or conferences. Regular or one-off
meetings could be held by local organisations or groups.
If you want further details please have a word with
Tony behind the bar or give him a ring on 07903 778918 and please mention
